Summary: Sakamoto Ryota is an unemployed 22 year old who lives with his mother. In the real world, there may be nothing special about him, but online, he's one of the world's top players of the combat game called Btooom. One day, he awakes on what appears to be a tropical island, though he has no memory of how he got there or why. While exploring the island, Ryota runs into a mysterious being who attacks him by throwing a bomb at him. Ryota then realizes that both his life is in danger, and that he has somehow become trapped in a real-life version of his favorite game. Ryota must now survive through the nightmare to figure out the reason why he ended up in the game in the first place. [from ANN]

My First Impressions: It was kind of cute and I like how they manage to put in a fight every ep, but the reasons were so dumb. I got bored of this rather fast.

Summary: In 21st century Japan, cars with artificial intelligence for increased safety, known as "A.I. cars," have revolutionized the car industry. Special schools teaching children driving A.I. cars have been established. One day, Kakeru Todoroki, a fifth grader of Arcadia Academy, was summoned by the school principal and given an A.I. car "to save the humanity by chosen drivers like you." The car, however, is not just a car but also a transforming robot known as "Gyrozetter." [from ANN]

Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! (+ Lite) - 12+ eps

Summary: High school freshman Yūta Togashi was once a "chūnibyō patient" i.e. an overly self-conscious middle schooler. He wants to bury this embarrassing past and begins a new life in high school -- unsuccessfully. His classmate Rikka Takanashi, a "current" chūnibyō patient, has found traces of residual symptoms on him and used the fact to force Togashi "making a contract" with her. [from ANN]

Code Breaker - 12+ eps

Summary: Riding the bus one day, Sakurakouji Sakura looks out the window to see people being burned alive with a blue fire as a boy her age remains unharmed and stands over the people. When she goes back to the site the next day, there are no corpses or evidence of any kind of murder, just a small fire. When Sakura goes to class, she discovers the new transfer student is the same boy she saw the day before. Sakura soon learns that he is Ogami Rei, the sixth "Code: Breaker," a special type of assassin with a strange ability and also a member of a secret organization that serves the government. [from ANN]
My First Impressions: Honestly, it wasn't very interesting. The art is pretty bad, and the animation not very good either. Ep1 just couldn't get me interested in this. <not continuing unless recommended>

My First Impressions: Could not get through more than 1/2 the ep. It was so boring. There wasn't even any tank fighting. It's very slice-of-life schoolgirls, but with no real drama. <not continuing unless highly recommended>

Jojo's Bizarre Adventure - ? eps

Summary: Late 19th century. Young, handsome and wealthy English nobleman Jonathan Joestar seems to have everything people crave for. His lowly-born adopted brother Dio Brando, brought into the family by Jonathan's father George, is particularly jealous of Jonathan. When Jonathan found out Dio's horrible secret, he tried to use an stone mask that looks like a torture instrument to kill Jonathan, who's into archaeology and might make the death looks like an accident. However, the stone mask is anything but a simple instrument. [from ANN]

Other Comments: <ninotachi> it's meant to be FABULOUS and MANLY at the same time. it's also probably the only series where a training montage and the mentor's tragic backstory is completed in half an episode, because it's more hotblooded and gentlemanly to go beat in the face of the enemy without spilling your win as opposed to training.

K - 13 eps

Summary: Ashinaka High School is known for its unique setting: the entire campus is built on an island. Yashiro Isana, aka Shiro, is having lunch with a cat on one of the school rooftops. After his lunch break, Shiro goes on an errand for his classmate Kukuri to prepare for their upcoming school festival, only to be chased by some intimidating-looking men. [from ANN]
My First Impressions: It's a bit confusing, but fairly interesting so far. Ep1 provides a little more information than in the summary, but not a lot more. It involves magic users and Shiro is not simply being chased, but the men are trying to kill him thinking he's a murderer. There's magic involved and cryptic dialogue about kings. The art and animation are pretty decent, and the characters are interesting enough. The problem is that the pacing is a bit weird so far. One ep was good, next ep was boring, ep after was interesting again. I'll have to give it at least a couple of more eps to really decide, but if it doesn't keep going at a consistent pace, I might drop it.

Little Busters! - 12+ eps

My First Impressions: Watched ep1, but got bored to tears. The characters are random without being funny or anything. The art isn't that great either. <not continuing unless recommended>

Summary: In a strange faraway land lies the mysterious labyrinth called The Dungeon. My First Impressions: The characters are interesting enough so far, and they're kind of fun. The art isn't the greatest, but not bad either. The plot moves forward quickly, so if it keeps moving at this pace, I can see it being good. At the same time, I hope it doesn't turn into a really long series, because if it's just something similar over and over again, I'll get bored very quickly. I do think 3 eps will give you a good idea of whether you'd like it or not.

Psycho-Pass - 22 eps

Summary: The series takes place in the near future, when it is possible to instantaneously measure and quantify a person's state of mind and personality. This information is recorded and processed, and the term "Psycho-Pass" in the anime's title refers to a standard used to measure an individual's being. The story centers around the "enforcement officer" Shinya Kōgami, who is tasked with managing crime in such a world. [from ANN]
My First Impressions: Fairly episodic so far. It's like watching a cop show, which features the bad guy turned good guy type. So far really not the best. I'm not a big fan of any of the characters, and the art could be better. Pacing is also a tad slow. I will give it another ep or two, but unless it picks up, I doubt I'll keep watching.

Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo - 12+ eps

Summary: The school romantic comedy revolves around a second-year high school student named Kanda Sorata who lives in Sakurasou, the dormitory for problem children at Sorata's school. One day, Shiina Mashiro — a cute girl who happens to be also a cosmopolitan, brilliant artist — moves into Sakurasou.
Sorata thinks to himself that he should protect Mashiro from the weirdos at Sakurasou, but Mashiro has a surprising secret: she has no idea how to take care of herself. She gets lost if she goes out, and her room is a complete mess. Sorata's dorm mates designate him as the master of Mashiro, and thus, an ordinary boy and a brilliant girl must live like a master and his pet. [from anidb]

My First Impressions: The 1st ep doesn't even cover the summary. It's a bit jarring sometimes because the transitions can mean a very short period of time or a very long one. The art/animation is also kind of weird in some places, and so is the pacing (that is, sometimes nothing happens, and sometimes a lot happens). Still, so far it has some interesting elements so I'll give it another couple of eps (at ep5 now), but I don't have high hopes for it either.

Suki-tte Ii na yo - ? eps

Summary: The story of first love centers around Tachibana Mei, a girl who has never made friends or had a boyfriend in 16 years. One day, she accidentally injures Kurosawa Yamato, the school's most popular boy. For some reason, Yamato becomes interested in Mei and starts a one-sided friendship with her. Summary: Four girls makeup Kameido High School's Tennis Club, but they don't actually get in much tennis practice. Oshimoto Yuri is the club's only freshman and the only sane person in this collection of eccentric personalities. Each day is spent in fun with her sophomore seniors, Shinjou Kanae, who is utterly inept at tennis, Takamiya Nasuno, who attempts to solve every problem with money, and Bandou Marimo, who, despite her elegant looks, is quite the pervert. Zetsuen no Tempest - 12+ eps

Summary: Mahiro Fuwa, a teenager whose family was mysteriously murdered a year ago, is contacted by Hakase Kusaribe, a young woman who stands against her clan since they left her stranded on a deserted island. As the two decide to help each other, Hakase's quest to oppose her clan brings to light that the Kusaribe clan intends to awaken the "Tree of Zetsuen" whose power can bring chaos upon the entire world. My First Impressions: This is all for the plot. The characters are okay and so is the art/animation. The pace is fairly steady and keeps things moving along. So far, there's not a lot of plot beyond the summary, but has lots of fighting and running. I'll keep watching for a couple of more eps at least (at ep3).
